Scotch Maple Snaps

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavoring
  • 1/2 cup pecans (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Nesquick (chocolate milk mix)


Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar and butter; blend with a mixer until finely particled (crumbly, not doughy).
  3. Reserve ¼ cup for topping.
  4. Add rest of ingredients EXCEPT Nesquick; mix thoroughly.
  5. Shape into balls using a rounded teaspoon.
  6. Combine reserved crumbs and Nesquick.
  7. Roll the balls in the mix and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake 12-15 minutes. It makes a flat, snappy cookie.
